Terms of Service

Latent is a shared event camera: a host creates an event, guests join via a link or QR code in their browser, capture a limited number of photos and short videos, and the gallery stays sealed until the reveal time the host sets. The service is operated by Revelop di Luca Restagno P.IVA 04028870139, Italy.

Hosts need an account; guests don't. You're responsible for keeping your credentials safe and for what happens under your account. You must be at least 16 to create an account.

Events are one-time purchases, priced by guest tier, with no subscription. Purchases are processed by Polar, our merchant of record — your contract of sale, invoice, and payment protection come from Polar.

The free tier is a full-featured event for a small number of guests. Paid tiers unlock higher guest counts. If an event goes wrong because of a failure on our side, contact us and we'll make it right — up to and including a refund.

You (and your guests) own the photos and videos captured at your events. You grant us only the license needed to host, process, and deliver them — thumbnails, the sealed gallery, exports, notifications. Nothing else: no marketing use without your explicit permission.

You can export the full gallery in original resolution at any time, free, with no watermark.

Don't use Latent for anything illegal, and don't upload content that is unlawful, or that harasses or exploits anyone. Hosts can hide any frame before the reveal and are responsible for moderating their events.

We may remove content or suspend accounts that break these rules, and we'll tell you when we do unless the law prevents it.

Guests join without an account and are bound by these terms when they use the event camera. The host is responsible for informing attendees that photos and videos are being captured and shared with the event's gallery.

We work hard to be reliable — offline capture exists precisely because networks fail — but we can't promise uninterrupted service. To the extent permitted by law, our liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid for the affected event.

Nothing in these terms limits rights that consumer law gives you and that cannot be waived.

You can delete your account at any time; export your galleries first. We may terminate accounts that violate these terms. If we ever discontinue the service, we will give hosts at least 90 days' notice and keep exports available for that entire period — your memories will never be stranded.

These terms are governed by Italian law. If you're a consumer in the EU, you keep the protections of your country's mandatory consumer law, and disputes can be brought before the courts of your place of residence.

We may update these terms as the product evolves. For material changes we'll notify hosts by email at least 14 days in advance. Continuing to use Latent after that means you accept the new terms.
